How to Get Your Kansas Real Estate Sales Agent License

Kansas Real Estate License Requirements

  • Must be a citizen of the United States or a lawfully admitted alien
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must hold a high school diploma or its equivalent (GED)

Steps to Get a Kansas Real Estate License

  1. Real Estate Pre-Licensing Course: Complete 60 hours of pre-license coursework, including the Principles of Real Estate and Kansas Practice courses.
  2. Fingerprinting and Background Check: Submit your fingerprints to an accredited agency and pay the $75 fee for a criminal history record check.
  3. Kansas Real Estate License Exam: Take the exam and pass with a score of 56/80 on the National section and 21/30 on the State section.
  4. Real Estate License Application: Submit the application documents along with certificates of completion and pay the $125 salesperson license fee.
  5. Application Review: Wait for the background report to come back as a pass and receive your license document.
  6. Real Estate License Sponsorship: Associate with a current and active Kansas sponsoring broker.
