How to Get Your Mississippi Real Estate Sales Agent License

Mississippi Real Estate License Requirements

  • Be a citizen of the United States or a lawfully admitted alien
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Have a high school diploma or GED

Steps to Get a Mississippi Real Estate License

  1. Complete a 60-hour pre-licensing course from a Mississippi-approved education provider
  2. Submit a completed, notarized application to the Mississippi Real Estate Commission (MREC) within 60 days of the notary date, along with a certificate of completion, official transcript or grade report, and a application fee
  3. Receive approval from MREC and take the Mississippi Real Estate License Exam
  4. Pass the exam with a minimum score of 56/80 on the National section and 30/40 on the State section
  5. Obtain sponsorship from a licensed real estate broker
  6. Complete 30 hours of post-licensing education within the first year of licensure
