- Complete a one-time, 4-hour course on Annuity Suitability
- Long-Term Care Training: 8-hour initial course and 4 hours of ongoing training every renewal period
- Ethics Requirements: 3 hours of classroom/webinar ethics every 2-year license term
- Resident Requirements: 24 hours of CE, including 3 hours of classroom/webinar ethics
- Non-Resident Requirements: Exempt from CE in Illinois, except for LTC
- Course Repetition: Courses may not be repeated within a 2-year compliance period
Steps to Renew a Illinois Insurance License
- Complete the required CE hours according to your license type and state regulations
- Pass the closed book online certification exam with a minimum score of 70%
- Fulfill the Annuity Suitability and Long-Term Care Training requirements, if applicable
- Complete CE requirements by the license issuance date every two years
- Report course completion within 10 days and pay the state reporting fee of $1.00 per credit hour
