How to Get Your Pennsylvania Real Estate Sales Agent License

Pennsylvania Real Estate License Requirements

  • Be a citizen of the United States or a lawfully admitted alien
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Have a high school diploma or GED

Steps to Get a Pennsylvania Real Estate License

  1. Complete the 75-hour pre-license coursework, including 30 hours of real estate license fundamentals and 45 hours of real estate license practice.
  2. Pass the final pre-license exam, which must be supervised by a proctor.
  3. Complete fingerprinting and a background check, providing a certified criminal history report from the Pennsylvania Access to Criminal History (PATCH).
  4. Pass the Pennsylvania Real Estate License Exam, with a minimum score of 60/80 on the National section and 23/30 on the State section.
  5. Submit a real estate license application along with the required documentation.
  6. Receive sponsorship from an employing broker with a valid PA Real Estate Broker license.
