How to Get Your California Real Estate Sales Agent License

California Real Estate License Requirements

  1. Be at least 18 years of age
  2. Complete 135 hours of required education (45 hours in Real Estate Principles, 45 hours in Real Estate Practice, and 45 hours in one additional state-approved course)
  3. Pass the salespersons exam
  4. Submit the Salesperson License Application, licensing fee, and Live Scan Request form (for submitting fingerprints) within one year of the examination date
