How to Complete the Florida Court-Ordered Intermediate Driver Improvement Course
Course Description
Our Florida 8-Hour Intermediate Driver Improvement Course is designed for drivers who have received two traffic citations within a 12-month period and have been ordered by the court to complete an advanced traffic course. Also known as 8-Hour Basic DDS, 8-Hour DDS, 8-Hour ADV, 8-Hour Driving Course, or 8-Hour Defensive Driving Course (DDC), our online course provides a convenient and efficient way to fulfill this requirement.

- Study at your preferred location, whether it’s at home or a library. All you need is a computer with an internet connection.
- Access the course 24/7, allowing you to study whenever it suits your schedule.

How to Fulfill a Court-Mandated Traffic School Requirement
- Receive notification from the court of your traffic school requirement. Habitual traffic offenders will be notified that they must attend an advanced driver improvement course above the 4-hour BDI course. You may be required to appear in court by the date on your citation, or you may receive instructions by mail.
- Enroll in and complete our Florida 8-hour traffic school course. Our user-friendly platform allows you to study at your own pace, ensuring an engaging and effective learning experience.
- Submit your completion certificate to the court within the specified deadline. Each court will provide directions on how they wish your certificate to be submitted (fax, mail, in-person, etc.) and a time frame within which to submit your certificate after completing the course.
- Verify your point reduction by checking your driving record. Make sure the DHSMV has received your completion certificate and has given you credit for your traffic school course. Although the violation will remain on your record, the points associated with it should be removed.
Course Structure
Our Florida 8-Hour Intermediate Driver Improvement Course is divided into easy-to-manage, single-subject chapters that help you absorb information efficiently. Each chapter includes interactive content, graphics, and videos to make learning more engaging. At the end of each chapter, you’ll take a multiple-choice review quiz to reinforce your understanding of the material. Upon completing the course, you’ll receive a completion certificate to submit to the court as proof of your traffic school requirement fulfillment.
