How to Get Your Idaho Real Estate Sales Agent License

Idaho Real Estate License Requirements

  • Be a citizen of the United States or a lawfully admitted alien
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Complete 90 hours of approved education for a salesperson’s license
  • Pass final exams with a minimum of 70%
  • Pass the licensing exam

Steps to Get a Idaho Real Estate License

  1. Complete the 90-hour pre-license coursework in Sales Module 1 and 2
  2. Take and pass the Idaho Real Estate Exam with a minimum score of 56/80 on the National section and 28/40 on the State section
  3. Complete a fingerprinting and background check
  4. Submit the completed and notarized application form with the fee and all required attachments
  5. Obtain Errors & Omissions Insurance
  6. Wait for the application to be reviewed and license to be issued on inactive status
  7. Find a designated broker to activate the license

Course Description

The Idaho Real Estate Sales Agent 90-Hour Pre-License Course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become a licensed real estate sales agent in Idaho. The course is divided into two modules – Sales Module 1 and Sales Module 2, each containing 45 hours of material.

Module 1 covers real property rights and ownership, land use controls, agency, contract law and state-specific contract requirements, real estate finance, license law and laws affecting licensees, and real estate math. Module 2 covers real estate investment, real estate appraisal, buyer and seller representation, environmental issues, real estate closings, title transfer, leasing and property management, fair housing, and real estate brokerage.

Additionally, the course includes Idaho Exam Prep Edge, and the eTextbook Real Estate Basics and Beyond. Students will also receive 3 courses to help get their business off the ground, including Building Your Sphere, Building Your Real Estate Business, and Is Commercial Real Estate For You?
