- Must be a citizen of the United States or a lawfully admitted alien
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have a high school degree or the equivalent (GED)
- 75 hours of approved pre-licensing courses required by the state
Steps to Get a Illinois Real Estate License
- Complete 75 hours of approved pre-licensing courses, which include 60 hours of Real Estate Broker Topics and 15 hours of Broker Pre-License Applied Real Estate Principles – Interactive.
- Pass the Illinois Real Estate Exam, which consists of 140 questions with a passing score of 75/100 on the National section and 30/40 on the State section.
- Apply for your Illinois Real Estate Broker License with the Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation.
- Once issued, file a 45-Day Permit Sponsor Card form within 24 hours to activate your license.

Course Description
This online course is designed to provide students with the 75 hours of instruction required to be eligible for an Illinois broker license. It covers the Illinois 60-Hour Broker Pre-License Topics and 15-Hour Applied Real Estate Principles – Interactive, along with three business building courses to help students grow and build their business. The package also includes an eTextbook and Illinois Exam Prep Edge to prepare students for the state licensing exam.
Course Features
- Self-paced online course with a minimum amount of seat time required by the Illinois Division of Real Estate.
- Final exams must be passed with a minimum of 75% and may be taken as many times as necessary.
- Certificates of course completion will become available to download and via email.
- The course expires six months after the date of purchase, with a one-month extension granted at no charge. Reactivation or extension beyond seven months will be charged 20% of the current retail price of the course for each 30-day extension or partial 30-day extension. Students may also elect to re-enroll for 50% of the current retail price of the course.
