How to Complete the Continuing Education to Renew Your New Mexico Real Estate Affiliate and Qualifying Broker License

Real Estate Affiliate and Qualifying Broker License Renewal Requirements New Mexico

  • Renewal Date: Every three years
  • Hours Required: 36 hours for Associate Brokers, 42 hours for Qualifying Brokers
    • Associate Brokers:
      • 12 hours: 4-hour Annual Core Course required every year
      • 4 hours: Core Elective course (residential, commercial, property management, vacant land/ranch)
      • 4 hours: Ethics Elective course
    • Qualifying Brokers:
      • 6 hours: Qualifying Broker Refresher Course
      • 12 hours: 4-hour Annual Core Course required every year
      • 8 hours: Core Elective course
      • 4 hours: Ethics Elective course
      • Attend a NMREC Commission Meeting or Disciplinary Hearing for up to 3 hours once per 3-year cycle

Steps for New Mexico Affiliate and Qualifying Broker License Renewal

  1. Complete the required continuing education hours based on your license type (Associate Broker or Qualifying Broker).
  2. Ensure that course completions are reported to the state within three days from the course completion date.
  3. Receive an electronic copy of the course certificate of completion upon successful completion of the course.
  4. Submit your renewal application and any required certificate(s) of completion with your renewal.
  5. Pay the applicable license renewal fees.
