How to Get Your New Mexico Real Estate Broker License

New Mexico Real Estate Broker License Requirements

  • Supervisory Qualifying Broker candidates: At least 4 years active experience as a licensed associate broker during the 60-month period immediately preceding the application
  • Non-Supervisory Qualifying Broker candidates: At least 2 years active experience as a licensed associate broker during the 60-month period immediately preceding the application
  • To supervise other brokers, candidates must have at least 4 years active experience as an associate broker and qualifying broker
  • Complete a 30-hour Brokerage Office Administration Course
  • Complete an 8-hour Understanding and Using RANM forms course
  • Complete 8 hours of Core CE electives
  • Attend one New Mexico Real Estate Commission meeting, rule hearing, or disciplinary hearing for at least 3 hours (attendance can be in person or via live/recorded distance broadcast)
  • Complete a background check and submit fingerprints

Steps to Become a New Mexico Real Estate Broker

  1. Meet the experience requirements outlined above
  2. Complete the 30-hour Brokerage Office Administration Course
  3. Complete the 8-hour Understanding and Using RANM forms course
  4. Complete 8 hours of Core CE electives
  5. Attend a New Mexico Real Estate Commission meeting, rule hearing, or disciplinary hearing for at least 3 hours
  6. Complete a background check and submit fingerprints
  7. Apply for your Qualifying Broker license
