How to Complete the Continuing Education to Renew Your Ohio Real Estate Sales Agent and Broker License
Real Estate License Renewal Requirements Ohio
- Renewal Date: Every three years by the licensee’s birth date
- Hours Required: 30 hours
- 9 hours – Mandatory hours:
- 3 hours in Civil Rights/Liberties
- 3 hours in Core Law
- 3 hours in Canon of Ethics
- 21 hours – Elective hours
- 9 hours – Mandatory hours:
- Licensees who are 70 years old and older only need to complete the Mandatory portion of the above Continuing Education.
Steps for Ohio License Renewal
- Complete the required 30 hours of continuing education, including mandatory and elective courses.
- Finish the courses within the specified course expiration date.
- Pass the final exams with at least a 70% score (unlimited retakes).
- Obtain an electronic Certificate of Completion upon successful completion of each course.
- Submit your Certificates of Completion with your renewal application, if required.
