Tennessee Mortgage License Requirements

  • Complete a Criminal Background Check (CBC)
  • Authorize a credit report through the NMLS
  • Fulfill all state and federal education requirements as designated by Tennessee
  • Pass a National Test
  • Have no prior revocation of license by any state regulator
  • Have no felony conviction during the 7-year period prior to application
  • Have no felony conviction at any time, if the felony involved fraud, dishonesty, breach of trust, or money laundering
  • Demonstrate sufficient financial responsibility, character, and general fitness
  • Be sponsored by their current employer
