Texas Real Estate Broker License Requirements

  • Complete 900 classroom hours of qualifying real estate courses within two years of your broker’s license application
  • 270 classroom hours of mandatory courses, including Principles of Real Estate I and II, Law of Agency, Law of Contracts, Promulgated Contract Forms, Real Estate Finance, Real Estate Brokerage, Real Estate Marketing I, and Real Estate Property Management
  • Additional 630 credit hours in related qualifying education courses or approved Continuing Education (CE) courses
  • Pass the final broker course exam with a minimum passing grade of 70%
  • Submit a Texas Broker License Application
  • Obtain a fingerprint-based background check

  • Wait for TREC to review and approve your application
